Lawrie Taylor (Pharmacist): Lawrie Taylor has been working in Pharmacy for almost 54 years, starting out as an apprentice
Pharmacist in December 1953. He qualified as a Pharmacist by professional examinations in March 1961 and is currently both a Member of the
Pharmaceutical Society (M.P.S.) and an associate of the NZ College of Pharmacists (ANZCP). Over the years he has owned, and worked in, a number
of pharmacies though out the North Island - in Whangarei, Tokoroa (as their "Night Chemist"), Ngaruawahia and Hamilton. In
September 1984 he took over operation of Vercoe Rd Pharmacy and has been there ever since! He has also had a long time interest in
Radio Announcing, taking a breakfast announcers job at Radio Northland in 1970 and for a time also fitting in a Saturday night radio
slot called "Party Time". Today he continues this interest by broadcasting EasyFM (107.7FM), an easy listening station from his
home in Beerscourt, using a LPFM (Low Power FM broadcasting) licence. |
