The Vicks Digital Thermometer is waterproof to make cleaning easier. After use, clean the thermometer by wiping it with soap and water or surgical spirits. Do not soak the display area in water. Only the probe is waterproof. Do not wash the probe with boiling water. To prevent damage and contamination, store the unit in its protective case after each use. Do not store the unit in direct sunlight. Keep the thermometer in a dry, cool area and out of the reach of children. Do not attempt to disassemble the unit except to replace the battery. Disposable probe covers are provided with the Vicks Digital Thermometer. Also included is a storage case for additional hygienic protection.

The Vicks Digital Thermometer is easy to use. For an accurate reading, it is recommended that several steps be taken. Firstly, for 15 minutes prior to use, avoid eating or drinking any liquids, exercising, taking showers or baths, or smoking. If the thermometer has been stored in a cool place, let it naturally adjust to room temperatures. Disposable probe covers are provided with the Vicks Digital Thermometer. If using these covers, place a cover on the probe top each time the thermometer is used to help prevent contamination. To use, simply press the on/off button to activate the thermometer. How do you take the body temperature?
Mouth: The thermometer sensor is placed on the tongue with the mouth closed around the thermometer.
Under the Arm: The thermometer is positioned in the armpit with the arm held closely to the body keeping the thermometer in place.
Rectally: The thermometer sensor is placed into the rectum while the patient lies on their stomach.
